Michael has always loved cooking for his family, experimenting in the kitchen for his wife and their three kids. Growing up, Italian food was at the center of his world — the way his family connected, celebrated, and came together. He always dreamed of opening a restaurant where he could share that same joy with his community.

In 2025, that dream became a reality when he was approached with the opportunity to become the new owner of Lee's Sports and Spirits. Although Lee’s wasn’t a pizza shop or a traditional Italian restaurant, Michael and his wife, Michelle, embraced the challenge. Together, they took over the bar and transformed the basement into its sister restaurant, NickaLena’s.
Behind the Name
NickaLena’s is named after two very special members of Michael’s family, combining the names of his beloved grandmother Pasqualina (Lena DiFederico) and his uncle Nick.
